Dustin (Two Time Champion) Basch stays active with his three kids and taking care of the “farm” (two ponies and a horse). He will run once maybe twice a week for half an hour, his motto is “how far I can get in 30 mins is how far I run.” Dustin has turned in a 28-minute 5k and a 59:04 10k last May for a first-place finish amongst the other ponies. He is the top ranked runner with a target on his back, which is all the other three ponies will see of him again. Can you say 3 Peat!

Donny (Rising Phoenix) Basch is back to take the belt. Last year’s race only fueled my fire to train harder and faster. This year I am not going to worry about the strategy of the other racers. I am in it to win it! I am going to start fast and end faster, not holding anything back. I hope they skip breakfast because there will be a lot of dust kicked up from my trail. Thank you for the support and participation for this amazing cause and I look forward to celebrating with everyone after at the finish line.

2023 is a new year with another chance to win the race. I have been training up to 4 times a week with runs, strength, and endurance training. The race being a 5k this year really plays to our advantage as I am built for speed and not so much on the distance. It is only 3.1miles and I say you can do anything for 25 minutes. I know in the previous years I have been unable to raise the belt in victory but stay with me and put your beats on this train. I am ready and willing to put the work in to bring home that victory. Thanks to all previous supporters and all new ones. Team Dan is winning it this year. I don’t like disappointing and not performing when people are counting on me to win. So, I need and will make it happen. I would like to thank everyone for their participation in this event to help continue to raise funds for our mother’s legacy fund. I know she is smiling down on all and proud that we are still helping all we can with great attitudes, love, and God at our backs.
